On Friday the 17th celebrate Jamaica’s 50th year of independence at the Montreal International Reggae Festival. Since 2004, the lively city has played host to industry legends and up-and-coming reggae talent. This year is no different as the city welcomes Mr. needs-no-introduction Jimmy Cliff among a list of notable movers and shakers including Tarrus Riley, Konshons and Montreal’s very own Poirier. The performances all take place outdoors at the old port. Tickets are affordable and on sale now. The festival runs until Sunday, August 19.
