On Sunday, September 2, crustaceans take over Pigeonhole Park with the 4th annual Montreal Oysterfest. If you’ve never heard of the event, it’s a yearly fundraiser for the Open Pier Foundation, a non-profit organization that fights for clean waters. The festival consists of several kiosks serving up the hard-shelled specialty and this year features stations from Méchant Boeuf, BEVO Bar + Pizzeria, Taverne Gaspar and Suite 701. Expect delicious menus of complementary goodies from these Old Montreal pearls: fish tacos, ribs, porchetta sandwiches (spit and all!) and more!
Along with great food, there’ll be a slew of activities, including live music, a shucking competition and a bloody Caesar contest! Tickets are necessary and must be purchased in advance. Check out the website for more info.
