On Thursday, September 27, Taverne Gaspar will be participating in Dans la rue’s street food challenge: De la rue aux étoiles! The fundraiser pits together chef’s from Montreal’s top dining spots in a faceoff for the coveted title of gourmet street food king. Here’s the skinny from Dans la rue’s Facebook page:
Montreal’s finest chefs take the friendly challenge to create their original and gourmet version of a street food. This year’s challenge for our talented chefs is to re-invent the celebrated ‘taco’ to gourmet status. You, our guest, will decide the winner. The evening will also include amazing street entertainment and groove rhythms, while enjoying the most scenic views of Montreal. All profits of this wonderful evening of haute street cuisine will support Dans la rue, an organization helping young people get off the streets.
Tickets are on sale now. Call 514-526-5222 to purchase them. They’re priced at $125 per person with a $100 tax deduction or $1000 for 10 with a $750 deduction. It all takes place at the Montreal Science Centre in the Old Port.
